3.2 Test RJ12 Port

Advanced Tests · Optional · Test the RJ12 port with an expander board or pendant

ℹ️

Objective: This section verifies that the RJ12 port can communicate correctly. You can test it with either the expander board or a pendant / hand controller.

⚠️

NOTE: This is an optional advanced test. If you do not use the RJ12 port, you can skip this section.

Method 1: Use the Expander Board

Power off the controller board.
Connect the expander board directly to the RJ12 port.
Power on the controller board.
The expander board should work directly without extra setup.

Method 2: Use a Pendant / Hand Controller

Install ESP3D firmware on the pendant from: https://webinstaller.esp3d.io/
On the pendant, open Settings and set communication mode to Serial.
Go back to Settings, open Setting Editor, and set Swap RX TX to Disable.
Set the baud rate to 1000000.
Connect the pendant to the RJ12 port and test communication.

Expected Results

Expander board: Works directly after connection.
Pendant: Communicates normally after setting Serial, Swap RX TX Disable, and 1000000 baud rate.
